This August, OGResearch consultants Július Danko and Danilo Cerovic visited Eswatini, organized by the Macroeconomic & Financial Management Institute of Eastern and Southern Africa (MEFMI). The first visit marked the starting point of our collaboration with the Central Bank of Eswatini on developing a Quarterly Projection Model (QPM). The team focused on providing intuition and theoretical background for the QPM framework, while also introducing practical exercises in MATLAB and Iris to strengthen technical skills. This visit laid the foundation for building up the model together with the central bank team in the coming months.
