OGResearch Economists Support the Further Development of Uzbekistan’s Macroeconomic Forecasting Framework

OGResearch Consultants Áron Iker and Gaia Casadei recently conducted a visit to Uzbekistan under the Macroeconomic Planning and Management Project, financed by SECO. The technical assistance supports the Ministry of Economy and Finance in further strengthening its macroeconomic forecasting framework.

During the five-day visit, the team worked on enhancing the analytical depth of their forecasting model by sophisticating the public debt trajectory calculations and enriching its transmission channels. The workshop also included a comprehensive update of the macroeconomic projections and discussions on a strategic roadmap to ensure the sustainable operation and continued development of the forecasting framework beyond the project’s duration.
