OGResearch Economist Áron Iker presented at the Annual Conference of Hungarian Economists

September 16, 2025

OGResearch Economist Áron Iker participated in the international economy section of the 63rd Annual Conference of Hungarian Economists, the country’s largest economic conference.

The section addressed the emerging “New world (dis)order” marked by geopolitical risks, intensifying international competition, technological disruptions, and cross-border challenges driven by climate change, and discussed Hungary’s potential place within it.

In their presentation, Áron highlighted how economic and social shocks, while often seen as challenges, can also serve as catalysts for addressing long-term issues such as climate change, technological transformation, and the fragmentation of the global economic order. The key question raised was whether Hungary can turn these shocks into opportunities for its future development.
