OGResearch Consultants Áron Iker and Gaia Casadei recently visited Uzbekistan as part of the Macroeconomic Planning and Management Project, financed by SECO. The Technical Assistance project aims to support the Ministry of Economy and Finance in sustaining and improving a robust macroeconomic forecasting system. During the five-day mission, the team introduced top-down GDP estimation, refined the model’s real exchange rate and real interest rate calculations, and discussed strategies to ensure the sustainable operation of the framework beyond the project’s duration.
