OGR Managing Partner David Vavra and OGR Senior Expert Anna Augusztin held a cross-country workshop in South Africa for national experts from nearly all SADC countries. As part of the SADC Secretariat project, the technical assistance focused on building forecasting and modeling capacities within the member states, ultimately supporting their efforts toward economic convergence.
During the workshop, the Extended Macroeconomic Forecasting Framework was introduced. In addition to model development, analytical and theoretical discussions were held on a wide range of topics, including long-term growth, monetary policy regimes, and climate hazards. The workshop was organized by the SADC Secretariat and financed by the African Development Fund.
